A Special Message From ISCF/IKF Representative
Chuck Wolfe
That We Thought Well Worth Posting

Chuck sent this to us on Wednesday, but we were just now able to post it.

Good Morning! Each year on Thanksgiving, we gather with family and friends to thank God for the many blessings He has given us, and we ask God to continue to guide and watch over our country. Almost 400 years ago, after surviving their first winter at Plymouth, the Pilgrims celebrated a harvest feast to give thanks. George Washington proclaimed the first National Day of Thanksgiving in 1789, and Abraham Lincoln revived the tradition during the Civil War. Since that time, our citizens have paused to express thanks for the bounty of blessings we enjoy and to spend time with family and friends.

In want or in plenty, in times of challenge or times of calm, we always have reasons to be thankful. America is a land of abundance, prosperity, and hope. We must never take for granted the things that make our country great: a firm foundation of freedom, justice, and equality; a belief in democracy and the rule of law; and our fundamental rights to gather, speak, and worship freely. These liberties do not come without cost. Throughout history, many have sacrificed to preserve our freedoms and to defend peace around the world.

Today, the brave men and women of our military, law enforcement and private services continue this noble tradition. These heroes and their loved ones have our gratitude. It is an honor working with them on a daily basis. Tomorrow, (Thanksgiving Day) we also should remember those less fortunate among us. They are our neighbors and our fellow citizens, and we should be committed to reaching out to them and to all of those in need in our communities.

This Thanksgiving we at Chuck Wolfe's Martial Arts again give thanks for all of our blessings and for the freedoms we enjoy every day. Our Founders thanked Jesus Christ and humbly sought His wisdom and blessing. May we always live by that same trust, and I pray that God will continue to watch over and bless the United States of America. Happy Thanksgiving!

RESULTS FROM
"CROSSING THE LINE V"
November 16th, 2007 - Bristol, Virginia, USA

Ray Thompson, ISCF Representative: First let me say that it was a pleasure to work with the fighters and trainers at this event, "Friday Night Fights-Crossing The Line V". They all were very pleasant, respectful and above all CAME TO FIGHT!!! Anything I would ask them to do or change (hand wrapping changes in particular) they would do with no reservation. They ALL conducted themselves like professionals even though the fighters were amateurs. This was my first experience being an ISCF representative for the promoters Casey Oxendine, Richard and Robert Kinds. These guys know what it takes to put on a great show. No show is without glitches and this one was no exception. The normal glitches being fighter issues, fighters making weight, fighters having the right equipment let alone having their equipment at all. These are easy solvable issues though. We rolled up our sleeves and did what it took to take care of these problems instead of complaining about them.

I enjoy working with promoters that don't mind getting their hands dirty. There was another issue that was not solvable, at least not by this rep. One of our judges, Roy Little, former kickboxing World Champion, had the pleasure of having his car stolen while in Johnson City, Tennessee. Now keep in mind the fights were in Bristol, Virginia, some 30 minutes away. We got the call that Roy's car was stolen about 30 minutes prior to fight start time meaning it was stolen JUST prior to fight time. What are the odds? Well after solving the other issues that had occurred we decided that this one would not get us down so we got on the horn and made a call to Mr. Chris Massey who is the owner of Mountain Empire Kempo Karate in Bristol, Tennessee. We explained the situation and as always Chris was willing to help. Chris knows that "The Show MUST Go On!" Thanks Chris for your help and also for a GREAT job judging.

There were also some celebs in attendance at this event that I'd like to mention. Everyone knows about the Ultimate Fighter (UFC) series on Spike TV. Well we had a couple of UFC guys with us on Friday night. Rory Singer from (the third season-I think) was there. A pleasant guy who is as good a trainer as he is a fighter. Also from the present UFC series was Blake Bowman. Blake also served to make the show run by doing a great job as a judge. It's nice when fame doesn't go to these guys heads. Some local celebs were there supporting Casey, Rick and Rob such as Tim "MOAB" Stout, Pro MMA fighter who brought some jam up fighters. Also Dee Smith owner of Absolute BJJ brought some anacondas with him to fight. All said and done it was a great show and EVERYONE pitched in to make it come together. Thanks guys! I look forward to working with you on the next show. Props go to Richard Ballard for doing a great job judging, very professional. Also to the staff for a great job getting it done! Great job Jeremy!

Now on to the fight results. First let me get the negative out of the way so I can move on to the more positive. There were three fighters that "NO SHOWED". Chase Knight, who actually came, weighed in and then did not return and would not answer repeated calls. Jason Keene and Brad Moore just plain did not show up. Why???? The reason I make this post is because I know what it is like to have fighters "NO SHOW" on you. First, it is disrespectful to the promoters, second to their opponents who trained hard and SHOWED UP to the event and most importantly the fans. The fans paid their hard earned money to come see fighters, that agreed to fight but did not show up. It makes EVERY fighter AND trainer in the industry look bad. Promoters beware of fighters that do not show up. If they do it once!!!!

As I have been informed, all three have been suspended by the ISCF 60 days and fined what is called a "Promoters Reimbursement Fee" and the suspension will remain until the fine is paid.

Now on to the positive:

  1. AMATEUR MMA
    Evan Null Vs Ricky Bouck
Ricky Bouck defeated Evan Null at 1:52 of 1st round by "rear naked choke" submission.

  2. AMATEUR MMA
Robert Woody Underwood Vs Matt Parker
Woody Underwood defeated Matt Parker at 3:19 of the 1st round by "Kamura" submission.

  3. AMATEUR MMA
    Zach Earles Vs Thomas Thompson
Thomas Thompson defeated Zach Earls at 52 seconds of round 1 by referee stoppage, TKO from strikes.

  4. AMATEUR MMA
    *Matt Traylor Vs Brad Moore
Matt Traylor won when his opponent Brad Moore "NO SHOWED".

  5. AMATEUR MMA
    Troy Dollar Vs Jared Snodderly
Troy Dollar defeated Jared Snodderly at 47 seconds 2nd round by KO from a knee to the head.

  6. AMATEUR MMA
    Wesley Sowards Vs Mark Inge
Mark Inge defeated Wesley Sowerds at 3:25 of round 1 by arm bar submission.

  7. AMATEUR MMA
    Steve Austin Vs Nate Jolly
Nate Jolly defeated Steve Austin at 2:28 of round 1 by referee stoppage KO from strikes.

  8. AMATEUR MMA
    Rob Mooney Vs Isaiah Armantrout
Isiah Armantrout defeated Rob Mooney by unanimous decision.
Judge Chris Massie scored 29-27, Judge Richard Ballard scored 29-28 and Judge Blake Bowman scored 30-27.

  9. AMATEUR MMA
    Jeremiah Huskins Vs Sean Spencer
Sean Spencer defeated Jeremiah Huskins at 1:43 of round 1 by referee stoppage from strikes.

  10. AMATEUR MMA
James Daniel Crockett Vs Ovince St Preux
This next bout had ISCF Regional title written all over it!!! It was however for a "Crossing The Line" title. This bout was also a classic battle of grappler vs striker WAR with the the striker edging out the grappler!!!
Ovince St. Preaux defeated Daniel Crocket by Unanimous Decision.
Judge Massie scored 27-30, Judge Ballard scored 26-30 and Judge Bowman scored 27-30.
I would have to say that the present scoring system does NOT give this bout the credit it is due. It was much closer than the scores indicated. If there were half points allowed (thank goodness there isn't) the bout would have reflected a much closer score.

Props to the fighters, trainers and the promoters for putting this one together. NOW bring these boys back for an ISCF Regional title.

"AXE / Proving Grounds"
November 17th, 2007 - Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA

Dan Stell, ISCF Representative: Let's put out a great shout out for two guys who went all OUT!!!!!!
John Sanders and Eric Judd are new Promoters of MMA with the ISCF in Idaho Falls, Idaho and from the looks of their event this past weekend, these guys are not only going "All out", but they are also "All IN!" These guys have jumped in head first, but not without doing their research. They have entered the North West MMA Scene as Professional as they can and their equipment is only part of that Professionalism. Their "Owned" equipment list includes a new custom made 24" hexagon cage, light bars, lighting and an awesome looking trailer with their promotion logo on the side.

For their first show, the two of them did everything above and beyond for the fighter and trainers and wow.....What a production! We have all seen shows with an impressive production, but backing up the lights and pizzazz was also 12 explosive matches! I take my hat off to all the outstanding fighters on this night! There was a lot of first time fighters on the card who just went in the cage and "Got it on!"

The attendance was right around 2,100 people, almost at max at the Skyline High School facility they promoted the event in. They announced their next show for January 12th, 2008 and after this show, I know for sure John and Eric will have to look for a new venue. Great job guys!!!!!!!!!

"Cage Championships VIII"
November 3rd, 2007 - Sullivan, Missouri, USA

Chuck Wolfe, ISCF Representative: Cage Championships again hosted an exciting venue. The fighters came prepared for battle and entertained the crowd throughout the card. Since I mentioned the crowd, I have to give huge props to what a classy bunch of fans these fights draw in! I've represented numerous events throughout the years, and the fans in Sullivan are encouraging of the fighters, respectful to one another and generally behave in a manner worthy of this fight game - they keep the fights "in the cage", and make this an atmosphere people want to be in! If I were to recommend a show to attend, this would be it, largely based on the fans and what a fine group of people they are!!! The warriors are clearly appreciated and respected in Sullivan!

2nd POSTING OF RESULTS FROM
"MMA EVOLUTION IV"
October 27th, 2007 - Bloomington, Illinois, USA

Terror At The Dome
MMA Evolution V

Mike Storm, ISCF Representative: It was huge! It was awesome! I'm not just talking about the Pekin Dragon's Dome in Pekin, Illinois, I'm talking about the fight card thrown by the folks at "The Hive" on Saturday, October 27th, 2007. They had it all, the "Miller Lite Girls", a junior grappling (no striking) exhibition, some terrific amateur MMA match-ups and 2 professional "Hive" title match-ups that excited the fans, not to mention an after-fight party at the Dragon's Dome that featured more televised MMA pay-per-view fights for those fans that were still thirsty for the action. The results of the night…

  1. Exhibiton Amateur Grappling (No Striking)
    Anthony Siscoe Vs Zach Powell

These fine young men put on a terrific exhibiton of grappling to demonstrate to the crowd the more technical aspects of fighting in the cage. With no striking or kicking allowed, they wrestled around the cage in what appeared to be a physical chess match. The crowd applauded both fighters when it was finished.

  2. Men's Amateur Bantamweight
*Donald Harper, 1-0, Washington, IL, David Harper, vs Chris Benavides, 0-3, Lafayette, IN, Street Fighters
Both fighters begin the fight with a lot of caution. Each fighter throws several punches but none connect. Harper moves closer and throws a left right combination that lands both punches to the face of Benavides causing Benavides to shoot forward and grab Harper around the waist and push him against the cage. Benavides turns Harper and takes him to the ground as Harper locks his arm around the head of Benavides. As Benavides throws punches to Harper's body, Harper ignores the shots and locks the arm around the head of Benavides catching him in a guillotine choke and making Benavides tap out at 1:07 of the first round.
    Winner by Submission, Donald Harper

  3. Men's Amateur Welterweight
Joshua Hereford, 2-2-1, Anchor, Il, The PFSD Club, vs *Chris Siscoe, 0-1, Danvers, Il, The Hive
Round 1 Siscoe opens the fight with punching combinations to the head of Hereford. Hereford counters by wrapping his arms around Siscoe. Siscoe backs Hereford to the cage and lays some effective knees to the legs and body of Hereford and then follows up by taking Hereford to the ground with Hereford's head up against the cage. Siscoe stands over Hereford and throws punches down upon Hereford. Hereford twists and turns and is able to use the cage to stand himself up and push Siscoe back to the middle of the cage. They wrestle around and lean on each other in the middle of the ring for a period of time until Hereford throws Siscoe with a hip throw and achieves a side mount on Siscoe as the round ends. The edge in the round went to Siscoe on all judges cards.
Round 2 Hereford comes ahead and wraps Siscoe up against the cage. Siscoe attempts a takedown but slips and goes down onto his knees allowing Hereford to gain the advantage. Hereford grabs Siscoe's arm and attempts a straight arm bar which is blocked by Siscoe. Siscoe turns and gives Hereford his back. Hereford throws punches to Siscoe's head making Siscoe bring his arms up allowing Hereford to grab one and lock on an arm bar at 1:39 of the round.
    Winner by Tapout-Josh Hereford
Joshua Hereford has a "No Contest' on his fcfighter database record as a PRO MMA fighter. However, he never fought Pro. He fought on what was described to us here at the ISCF as a "Shady Kick Sanctioned event" and he and his opponent thought the fight in question was an amateur bout, but the promoter submitted it as a Pro Bout. it was later ruled a "No contest" because of the circumstances. ISCF is looking in to this situation more.

  4. Men's Amateur Light Heavyweight
*Dan McMullen, 0-1-0, St. Louis, MO, J.W. Wright, vs *Leon Battiste, 1-0-0, Bloomington, IL, A.M.M.A.
Round 1 Battiste, the shorter and stronger of the two fighters, opens with a couple of leg kicks to McMullen's legs and then he shoots in with a double leg takedown but takes some punches from McMullen on the way in. Battiste achieves a side mount and throws several knees to McMullen's body. McMullen tries to push Battiste off but Battiste keeps control of the side mount. McMullen was busy trying different things to reverse positions but was unsuccessful as the round ended with the edge going to Battiste in the round.
Round 2 McMullen tries to establish control of the round early by coming across the ring and strikes out at Battiste. Battiste ducks under the attack and takes McMullen to the ground again. Battiste puts McMullen up against the cage and tries to stand over McMullen so he can throw punches down on McMullen. Battiste stands up and backs away from McMullen who is sitting with his back against the cage as McMullen kicks up at Battiste's knee with an illegal up-kick (Illinois Rule) against the knee which put Battiste down holding his knee. Referee Dave Bleeker was forced to stop the match.
    Winner by Disqualification-Leon Battiste

Mosack pushes Maxedon toward the cage continually throwing right hooks to Maxedon's body and an occasional punch to the head. Mosack staying busy with hard body shots while Maxedon was content to hold Mosack down in an attempt to neutralize the punches. The round ended with the edge going to Mosack.
Round 2 As the bell rings to start the second round, Maxedon tells Referee Chris Rudesill he is unable to continue the fight because he pulled a groin muscle in the first round.

Ray twists and turns to his back as Tudor swings his leg over and gets a full mount on Ray. DeLong on top, works on an arm bar but Gaston is successful in blocking it. Gaston twists and reverses position with DeLong now on the bottom but holding onto Gaston's head. Gaston throws vicious knees to DeLong's body from a side mount as the round ends. In a close round, two of the three judges gave the edge to Gaston.
Round 2 As the round starts, Gaston comes in with a left/right combination to DeLong's head which backs DeLong up to the cage. Gaston wraps his arms around the waist of DeLong and DeLong attempts to block the takedown by wrapping his arm around Gaston's head. Gaston picks DeLong up from around the waist and flips DeLong over his head. DeLong hits the canvass by landing on his head and shoulders which knocks him unconscious. Referee Chris Rudesill steps in immediately at :42 in the round.
Winner by KO-David Gaston The knockout also earned David Gaston the recognition as the "Fighter of the Night".

  9. Men's Professional Light Heavyweight Hive Title Fight
James Wade, 9-10-0, St. Peters, MO, J.W. Wright vs Harvell Hunter, 3-5-0, Joplin, MO, Mid West Mafia
At the opening bell, Wade charges across the cage with a flying knee aimed at Hunter's head. Hunter backs up and avoids it then grabs Wade and throws him on his back. Wade turns toward Hunter and is able to reverse positions. Now with Wade on top in a side mount, Hunter holds on to Wade's head. Wade throws knees to Hunter's body and then swings his leg over to a full mount, frees his head and begins a vicious ground and pound on Hunter. At 2:03 of the round, Hunter tells Referee Chris Rudesill he's had enough.
Winner by Submission and the Hive Professional Light Heavyweight Champion James Wade

  10. Men's Professional Welterweight Hive Title Fight
Pete Grimes, 14-6-0, Normal, IL, Miletich Fighting Systems, vs Shawn Antrem, 4-0-0, Morton, IL, Peoria Athletic Club
Round 1 Grimes comes at Antrim with kicks and punches to the head and body of Antrim. Antrim grabs Grimes and pushes him up against the cage. Grimes slides to the side and throws a knee to Antrim's body. Antrim takes Grimes down with a double leg takedown. Antrim from the top position maintains control and throws continuous right hands to Grimes body. Grimes tries to twist and wiggle out of the position but Grimes stays with him and now delivers knees to Grimes' body. Throughout the whole round, Grimes tries everything he could to reverse positions on Antrim but Antrim, being the superior ground fighter, keeps Grimes under control while throwing knees and punches to Grimes body.
Round 2 Grimes starts with a flurry of strikes, spinning backfists and round kicks to Antrim's head. Grimes hits Antrim with a left hook to the head. Grimes, the better stand up fighter, is happy to keep it standing but Antrim charges Grimes and pins him against the cage. Grimes spins out and throws more punches at Antrim. Antrim tries to neutralize Grimes by crowding him and holding on. Grimes throws a knee to Antrim's head as Antrim wraps his arms around Grimes and takes him down. With Antrim on top and in control now, Grimes twists and turns much like in the first round but Antrim stays with Grimes and counters every move Grimes attempts. Once Antrim got Grimes down, he was relentless in his attacks and counters against Grimes.
Round 3 Grimes attacks with furious fists and kicks. Antrim wades through the attack and once again takes Grimes to the ground where he is able to move and counter everything Grimes tries. Antrim continues the punches to Grimes head and body. Grimes tries to respond with punches of his own but is ineffective. Antrim in total control of the fight whenever it goes to the ground.
Round 4 Grimes throws a leg kick to Antrim that spins Antrim around and puts him down. Antrim reaches out and grabs Grimes leg and takes him down where Grimes does not want to be. Both fighters in great physical condition but Grimes is totally unable to gain any kind of control when they are down. Antrim constantly works on chokes and arm bars and although Grimes is able to escape every attempt he is unable to gain the upper hand himself.
Round 5 As the final round starts, all judges scorecards indicate that Grimes will need to knock Antrim out or make him submit to win. Grimes, with terrific stand up comes at Antrim. Antrim uses a front leg side kick to Grimes body to keep him at a safe distance. Antrim tries another kick which Grimes catches and dumps Antrim down. Grimes backs away and tells Antrim to stand. Antrim stands and kicks Grimes again and falls again. Antrim motions for Grimes to come at him. Grimes preferring to stand up cautiously moves forward anyhow and tries to stand over Antrim and punch down on him. Antrim pulls him down to the mat where the fight ends in a position where Antrim has dominated throughout the match. A much better round for Grimes but not enough for a victory.
The judges scored the fight, 50-45, 50-45 and 49-46.
Winner by Unanimous Decision and the Hive Professional Welterweight Champion Shaun Antrim

2008 ISCF MMA CLASSIC

Well Amateur MMA Fighters, sorry you missed out on the First Annual ISCF MMA World Classic?
Well DON'T MISS THE NEXT ONE!
Although we are still sorting through the location proposals for the 2008 Classic, we hope to have a date and location announced by early December. Last year the 2007 Tournament date and location was announced on December 2nd, about the same time we hope to make the 2008 Announcements.

Although all the weight brackets were not all full at the inaugural World Classic, we have had a lot of inquiries about the 2008 ISCF World Classic and expect a much larger turnout. So far we have had proposals from Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Virginia. If you have a location (hotel with attached ballroom or Arena) that is located in a State where Amateur MMA is legal, we would very much like to include your location in the selection process.

Like last year, this event will present FIRST CLASS Awards! Over $20,000 in all. EVERY FIGHTER will walk away with some type of Award(s) or Gift(s) from the ISCF and other Sponsors! The awards for this event alone will be a major expense. Awards will be broken down into two different divisions.

BRACKETS ARE LIMITED TO "EIGHT" FIGHTERS!
ONLY 8 Fighters Will Be Accepted for EACH Division Bracket!
Each weightclass bracket will also be limited to "EIGHT" Amateur MMA fighters! This is because we do not want the fighters to have to fight more than 3 times over the weekend. Twice on Prelim Saturday, and their Championship bout on Championship Sunday. For this reason, registrations will be taken on a FIRST COME basis! So if you want to reserve your spot in your desired bracket you need to register as soon as you can so keep watch here as to when the Registration opens. ALL registered fighters will be posted on our Registered Fighters page that will be posted like last years page which looked like the one seen HERE.. When a division fills, we will list "ALTERNATES" in the order we receive their registration. ALL Alternates fought at the 2007 Tournament! Fighters are urged to keep watch of this page when it is posted for the 2008 Classic because when division fills up, some fighters (Like in the 08 Classic) will drop out for various reasons. When this happens, the First Alternate moves in to the Division.

SPONSORS & VENDORS
For those who are in the MMA Game, you know Sponsors Love MMA! Sponsors will LOVE this Tournament! If you know of someone who would like to sponsor this event or donate gifts for the Athletes, please let us know by e-mail at: info@iscfmma.com

We will also have Vendor Booth space available inside the arena at the event. Our plan is to make this not just an MMA Tournament but an MMA Fair! As with the Sponsorship, those interested in Vendor Booth Space, Banner placement, Program Ads and more, please let us know by e-mail at: info@iscfmma.com

We look forward to seeing you all there...
