Making The Trip...
"For The TEAM!"

In about 3 hours, ISCF/IKF Photographer Glenn Berg (Right) and ISCF/IKF President Steve Fossum (Left) will start the 1819.8 mile trip to this years ISCF World Classic MMA Tournament in Cedar Rapids Iowa. If they drive straight through the Yahoo Map Quest says that it will take them 27 hours and 59 minutes. The two should have no problem setting some land speed records (shhh... did we say that out loud...) and make it there sometime Tuesday morning.

So your probably wondering "Why would they be driving all that way... Can't they afford a plane ticket?" Well, for those of you who have been around the IKF since the 2000 IKF USA Nationals event will remember why they now makes the sacrifice to drive to this event as well as all the IKF Tournaments, EVERY YEAR.

At the 2000 IKF Tournament, the event official shipping sponsor, UPS (United Parcel Service) was anything but... Official. They "LOST" ALL of the the IKF National Championship Belts valued at around $8,000.00. They didn't get them back until about 3 weeks after the event, when UPS finally found them. Oh there's a lot more to this story, but that tells enough of the story. "There was nothing worse that year than seeing all those Champions walk away from the ring with a "BORROWED" IKF USA National Champions Belt knowing they had to give it back after a quick picture." says IKF President Steve Fossum. "All those Champions, young and old that fought their heart out that year and were sent home with just a promise that We'll mail your belt to you..." Sure, they all got their belts about 3 weeks later, but they didn't get to come home with them after the event.

"What a crock of an explanation I thought... " continued Fossum "Here these amateurs traveled all this way, fought hard and won the National Title and now had nothing to carry home, let alone raise high above their head when they met those waiting for them at the airport or at the front door. "

Fossum continued, "NEVER AGAIN! Never again will I not be able to see the joy on a Champions face as they carry their Champions Belt proudly over their shoulder as they leave for home Monday morning. We have driven 3,000 miles two years in a row (2004 & 05) to Florida to make sure these belts were there for those IKF Champions on Championship Sunday. We will make the drive to Iowa this year for the ISCF Tournament, and later in august, drive to Florida for the IKF Championship tournament."

Tournament weekend is a marathon weekend for the ISCF/IKF staff. Many will be lucky if they get 8 hours sleep from Thursday night to Sunday night. But the excitement of everyone there gives them more energy than they will experience throughout the year. It's been the "Who's Who" of Amateur Kickboxing for the IKF tournaments, and will be known as the same for MMA starting this coming weekend. The ISCF & IKF have started on a quest to build each of these event to "THE TRUE" elite amateur MMA & Kickboxing events on the World.

Next weekend those in attendance will be surrounded by some of the greatest Fighters and Trainers in the world. Their presence humbles us all beyond all means. "THEY" are the Champions on this weekend. Their desires make us all proud just to work hard and make things happen. The many officials and staff that will be volunteering their time to help, what can be said of them other than "THANK YOU!!" Without them, this event couldn't happen. To see who these individuals are, Click HERE!

This event will change your life in so many ways. The trainers who give their time, effort and knowledge to their fighters with no financial compensation in return. Their sacrifices they make is rewarded when their fighters proudly enter the ring of battle to "Walk The Walk!"

For those who will be in attendance at this years FIRST of Many to come, ISCF Tournament, make sure you make the most of the event. Win or lose, stop and look around at who surrounds you. The greatest Amateur MMA Fighters and their trainers and officials the World has to offer. This will, as always be a Journey where we all find ourselves again. A Journey where we all gather together to see what our sport is all about. A house of our Peers.

When were among our peers for these days, it's as if nothing else around the world matters other than what's happening inside the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids Iowa on August 27th, 28th & 29th. There may not be 10,000 spectators in the stands, but those watching are our peers, and they are the only "Critics" we care to have. Those who know what it is like to train hard and "Walk The Walk!" These are the people who will be there this weekend.

Leading up to this week we have told quite a few people about this event as many of you have. Their response? "What's in Cedar Rapids Iowa???" And our response once again, as it was each time the IKF Tournament has been there has been very direct and simple...

"The BEST AMATEUR MMA FIGHTERS IN THE WORLD!
"Bring It ON!"

MORE TOURNAMENT NEWS

Final Notes Before We Leave To The
"INAUGURAL"
2007
ISCF / JACK9
World Classic Amateur MMA Championships Tonight

  • VIDEO Passes
    • All of the bouts at the event will be filmed for later sale. However, if you want to bring in a video camera, the fee for a video pass is $40 and can be purchased on Friday, at Weigh-ins and Registrations only. Please do not film from the Fighters PIT area or standing up in front of others at ringside. Those caught video taping without a pass will be escorted from the building and will not be allowed to return for the entire tournament.

  • REGISTERED TRAINERS
    • We are leaving for Iowa tonight, so any cornermen not already registered as of tonight will be required to pay the full cornerman's registration fee of $25 if you have your own photo (2" x 2") or $35 if we have to take your photo. Please do not tell us you mailed in your photo and form and we should have it when we see you at registrations. AGAIN, whatever you see on the Registered Cornerman's page as of tonight at the time of this posting (This includes everything from confirmed trainers to fighter photos needed to fees due), is all we have received here as of tonight. We will NOT be here to pick up mail all of Tournament week.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY
    • This year like at all of our IKF Tournaments we will have Official IKF/ISCF Photographer Mr. Glenn Berg at the tournament to take portrait shots. He will be taking photos throughout the weekend. He will be set-up at his photo booth in the Venue during all 3 sessions. Even if you do not win, "WE" as the ISCF would like to have your photo. You do not have to be a Champion to get your photo taken. We urge EVERY fighter and Trainer, even officials to go see Glenn to get your photo taken for our records. Glenn will stick around well after the event is over to make sure he has captured everyone there.

  • HOTEL ROOM NUMBER CHECK
    • As we have made clear all along, ALL FIGHTERS are required to stay in the Host Hotel. At your first check-in point at Friday's registration, ALL fighters will be required to give to the first ISCF Official their room number at the Host hotel. If you are not staying in the Host Hotel, you will be asked to book your room (If any left) and return to registrations with your room number. There is a VERY Good reason for this. At some of our past IKF Tournaments we had Fighters get injured in their bout and we needed to contact their parents who were not in the venue at the time of their bouts. Also at some past tournaments we had some fighters we needed to locate due to bout changes but we could not find them in the event room or in the hotel because they were at another hotel sleeping. Due to these issues causing a lot of problems, we do not want to face such issues again. This is why this is a MANDATORY RULE now for ALL FIGHTERS!

  • FIGHT VENUE - "ARENA!
    • The venue is the U.S. Cellular Center and when you see it, it will be motivating for everyone. When the fighters take the stage next weekend they will truly feel like a championship fighter who has arrived at "The SHOW!" Scott Piquard, Event Manager of the center will be building quite a stage for you all and we can assure you, you will truly be IMPRESSED! Our cages have been supplied by Steve Crawford and his associates out of Missouri and Kansas. you will be introduced to them at the Banquet dinner. "Thanks Guys!!!" Both rings will be Lighted but the main ring to be used only on Saturday and Sunday will be super bright with a full truss lighting system due to the camera filming of the bouts. When we say there is not a bad seat in the house, we truly mean it! And there is PLENTY of room for EVERYONE! No cramped venue here, but than again, we always make sure you all have room to move... From ringside to the top of the balcony, any spectator will be able to watch both cages with ease. We have plenty of warm-up area for trainers and fighters that will be separated from the Fight arena with a floor to ceiling drape. This warm-up area will have several large wrestling mats for warm-up. Although the host hotel is attached, also located in the arena are showers for all our event participants and a seating area for those who wish to eat while at the venue. As noted, don't forget that the arena is simply an elevator ride from your room so there is no need to travel by car or walk to and from your room to the fight arena.

  • FIGHTER SAFETY!
    • Like at our IKF Tournaments, our main concern for all the fighters is "Fighter Safety". With the assistance of Chief Referee Cam McHargue of Georgia, USA and a very experienced fight doctor, Dr. Rance McClain, D.O. and his associate, all will watch over both cages throughout the weekend. We have an excellent staff of referees that include;
      • Steve Schneider, Missouri, USA
      • Rob Kimmons, Missouri, USA
      • Shawn Monday, Kansas, USA
      • Dominic Brown, Missouri, USA
      • John Cornett, Missouri, USA
      • Dave Atchison, Orleans, Indiana, USA
      • Jon Munz, Arkansas, USA
      • Steve Thomasson, Oklahoma, USA
      • Tony Zamitalo, Wisconsin, USA
      • Cheryl Clancy, Wisconsin, USA
    • Adding to our fighter safety, the ISCF Tournament remains the "ONLY" MMA Tournament in the World that assures all fighters are covered with fighter medical insurance. As always, our insurance will be provided by the only Fight and Venue insurance endorsed by the ISCF and the IKF, F. L. Dean & Associates - www.fdean.com. To assure your safety at Tournaments and events around the world, ask your promoter if he is insured. If it's ISCF Sanctioned, IT IS! If not, you may be at risk for your medical needs if injured. To read more about ISCF and IKF Insurance with F. L. Dean & Associates, Click HERE!

  • ISCF MERCHANDISE
    • In the house this year will be the Official ISCF/IKF Merchandise booth. Drop by and say hello to 2 Time Kickboxing World Champion Johnny Davis (Right) and the rest of our booth staff. Available at the booth will be ISCF/IKF Tournament T-Shirts, ISCF/IKF Hats, Visors, Sweatshirts, Stickers, Polo Shirts, License Plate Frames, Coffee Mugs, Training Manual and even ISCF/IKF Baby Clothes for that up and coming ISCF/IKF Champion! RESULTS FROM
"INDOMITABLE"
APRIL 7th, 2007 - North Lake, Illinois, USA

By ISCF/IKF Representative Michael Storm The Midwest Conference Center in Northlake, Illinois was the site for some exciting Mixed Martial Arts action on Saturday, April 7th. Presented by Nestor Soto and Fight Card Entertainment, the cage was up, the fighters were ready and the crowd was excited for the first fight card in this particular venue. The card consisted of 14 Amateur MMA fights and 1 Professional MMA fight which was a Semi-Finals match-up between Rob Kimmons from Kansas City, KS and Joe Enright from St. Mary's, OH for the right to fight in the finals for the $10,000.00 Prize at the 2007 AMERICAN BUSHIDO GRAND PRIX coming up later in Chicago. Here are the results of the night…

  1. ISCF Amateur Light Heavyweight
James Allen, 1-0, Westchester, IL, Gracie Barra, Vs William Torrence Jr.,, 0-1, Bushido Karate, Chicago, IL, Winston Matthews
Round 1 Allen shot for a takedown first taking Torrence to his back. Allen worked around from the top working at getting an arm bar on Torrence with little effect. Torrence was able to keep his arms in tight to prevent the arm bars. Allen was able to push Torrence's legs aside to achieve a full mount but was still unable to do anything with the top position. After a period of inactivity, Referee Mike Reid stood both fighters up and re-started them. Allen throws a left round kick to Torrence's body and immediately shoots down and picks Torrence up from around the waist and dumps him on the canvass as the bell rang to end the round. The edge went to Allen in the first round.
Round 2 Allen came out and took Torrence down with a double leg takedown achieving the top position for the first part of the round. Again, due to inactivity, the referee stands the fighters up. Torrence throws a left front kick to Allen's stomach as Allen counters with a left round kick to Torrence's head followed up by another takedown. Torrence is able to tie Allen up throughout most of the round leaving Allen ineffective from the top position. Round ends with Allen again on top.
Round 3 Torrence comes across the cage with a strong front kick to Allen's stomach which Allen absorbed and immediately took Torrence down to the canvass again. Allen saw an opportunity to swing his leg around for a straight arm bar on Torrence. Torrence blocked the attempt but allowed Allen to get his leg over Torrence's body and achieve a full mount. After several more unsuccessful attempts by Allen to get a straight arm bar on Torrence, Torrence managed to switch positions on Allen and achieve the top position. Torrence then got too high and Allen swung a leg up around Torrence's head getting a triangle choke. Torrence picked Allen up and tried to release the choke by dropping Allen onto the canvass a couple of times but the legs were locked and Torrence was unable to get Allen to release the triangle choke. At 2:01 of Round 3, Referee Mike Reid stopped the match.
    Winner by Tap Out-James Allen.

  2. ISCF Amateur Middleweight
Jacob Corry, 2-1, DSS, Centralia, IL, Clinton Shuler, Vs Kevin King, 1-1, Jeff Neal Jiu-Jitsu, Chicago, IL, Jeff Neal
The fight started with King coming across and throwing a round kick to Cory's body causing Cory to grab King around the head and clinch. They rolled around the cage a few times when King throws a couple of knees to Cory's body. Cory proceeds to trip King taking King down but King quickly reverses the position and pounds Cory in the face. King moves to a side mount but Cory is able to tie up King's arms. King swings his leg over and gets a full mount onto Cory's chest as he starts to pound Cory harder in the face and head. Cory is unable to defend himself. He turns to his stomach giving King his back. King continues to ground and pound causing Referee Mark Fennal to step in and stop the match at 2:20 of the first round.
Winner by Referee Stops Contest-Kevin King.

  3. ISCF Amateur Lightweight
Lance Surma, 1-0-0, Team Colon, Munster, IN, Steve Colon, Vs Daniel Gregory, 0-2-0, Nine Fist Warriors, Schaumberg, IL, Augie Blancas
Both fighters come out kicking. Gregory throws a right round kick to Surma's body but Surma is able to catch the leg. With his right leg trapped, Gregory throws a left reverse outer crescent kick toward Surma's head. Surma ducks the kick and takes Gregory down . With Surma in the top mount, Gregory manages a front choke but is unable to maintain the choke. As Surma pulls his head out, he stands and is able to swing Gregory's legs aside allowing Surma to achieve a side mount high up towards Gregory's head. Surma swings his leg over and got a full mount with Gregory pressed up against the cage. Surma takes Gregory's arm and pushes his arm up against his own face. Gregory tries to twist out and away from the cage but only succeeded in slipping and turning away from Surma giving Surma his back. Surma quickly took advantage of the slip and threw a rear naked choke on Gregory. At 1:49 of the first round, Referee Mike Reid stopped the match.
    Winner by Tap Out-Lance Surma.

  4. ISCF Amateur Lightweight
Eugene Anthony, 2-2, TAC Karate, Chicago, IL, Vs Mikey Bell, 2-2, Integrated TKD, Chicago, IL, Kelvin Caldwell
Round 1 Both fighters start with kicks. Bell throws kicks to Anthony's body but Anthony is able to brush them off. Anthony clinches Bell and trips him, taking Bell down. From a half mount, Anthony works on Bell's arms and tries for arm bars but Bell is able to resist Anthony's efforts. Bell is able to twist around and stand up in front of Anthony while maintaining a standing front choke. Anthony is able to get his head out and they continue the fight from a standing position. Each fighter throws several kicks with little effect. Anthony shoots and takes Bell down. Bell manages to get his hand behind and over the top of Anthony's head sticking his fingers in Anthony's eyes. Referee Mike Reid stopped time and proceeded to give Bell a formal warning for putting his fingers in Anthony's eyes. The round ended soon after that with both fighters standing.
Round 2 Anthony started the round with an attempted side kick which Bell swung to the side and took Anthony down. Bell got onto Anthony's back and put a rear naked choke on Anthony. Anthony was able to defend against the choke and pushed Bell high up on his shoulders allowing Anthony to slip out the back bringing both fighters back to the standing position. Both fighters throw several more kicks until Anthony again is able to take Bell down. With Anthony on top and Bell using a leg scissors around Anthony's body, Anthony stands and tries to drop Bell onto the canvass. Bell was able to wrap his arms around Anthony and pull him back to the canvass. The round ended with both fighters on the canvas. The edge in the round possibly went to Bell for maintaining an attempted rear naked choke for nearly a minute in the round.
Round 3 Anthony starts the round with a strong front kick to Bell's body. He then shot in and wrapped his arms around Bell's body managing to throw Bell onto his back. Bell tried to roll out but left his arm exposed for Anthony to try a straight arm bar. Bell blocked the arm bar attempt and was able to escape and stand up. With both fighters standing, they exchanged another series of kicks. In another clinch, Bell throws Anthony onto his back but is unable to gain an advantage. After a period of inactivity, the referee stands the fighters up. A few more kicks thrown by each fighter, another takedown and again little action by either fighter while on the canvass as the round ended.
Judges #1 & #2 score the fight 29-28, Judge #3 scores the fight 28-29. Winner by Split Decision-Eugene Anthony.

  5. ISCF Amateur Welterweight
Jose Maldonado, 1-0, Team Colon, Hammond, IN, Steve Colon, Vs Justin Blancas, 0-2, Nine Fist Warriors, Mt. Prospect, IL, Augie Blancas
Both fighters started exchanging a pair of kicks. They then moved on to punches. Maldonado throws a right hook to the jaw of Blancas, stunning Blancas and putting him down. Maldonado ran around behind Blancas and sunk in a rear naked choke that Blancas was unable to get out of. Referee Mark Fennal stopped the fight at :25 in the first round.
    Winner by Tap Out-Jose Maldonado.

  6. ISCF Amateur Welterweight
Kirk Hensler, 0-1, Team Lightning Kicks, Kalamazoo, MI, Amir Khillal, Vs Rodney Hursey, 1-0, Academy of Mixed Martial Arts, Bloomington, IL, Troy Eckhart
Round 1 Hensler begins with a left/right combination to Hursey's head. In an attempt to avoid the punches, Hursey stumbles allowing Hensler to jump on him with a front choke. Hursey is able to get his head out, twist around and get a half mount on Hensler. Hensler switches positions on Hursey and Hursey switches back. They roll around several times switching positions until Hursey ends up with a full mount on top with Hensler up against the cage. While on top, Hursey pounds Hensler in the head. Hensler rolls to his stomach and gives Hursey his back. Hursey attempts a rear naked choke on Hensler's back but is unable to finish Hensler as time runs out in the round.
Round 2 The round starts as both fighters try kicks and then Hursey takes Hensler down and again traps Hensler up against the fence. Hensler manages to twist around and escape to the standing position. From a clinch, Hursey throws a vicious knee to Hensler's body, putting Hensler down allowing Hursey to get around to Hensler's back. Hursey gets high on Hensler's back allowing Hensler to back out and stand. Hensler throws a flying knee to Hursey's body putting Hursey down on one knee. Hensler jumps on Hursey and gets a leg scissors on Hursey's head. Hursey twists around and Hensler ends up sitting on Hursey's head. Hensler switches to a side mount and starts punching Hursey. Hursey brings his legs up and wraps them around the head and body of Hensler. Neither fighter was able to get a distinct advantage in the round.
Round 3 Hursey shoots in right away. Hensler backs up to the cage to stay on his feet. Hursey pulls a double leg takedown putting Hensler down but Hensler quickly switches the position. After a period of inactivity, Referee Mark Fennal stands them up. Hensler tries a right cross and misses. Hursey throws a right "superman" punch followed by a right round kick which both hit Hensler in the head. Hursey then takes Hensler down but is unable to do anything from the ground. Hensler is able to escape, stand and throw Hursey to the canvass. The round ends with Hensler on top.
In a hard fight to judge, Judges #1 & #2 score the fight 29-28 while Judge #3 scores 30-27.
    Winner by Unanimous Decision-Rodney Hursey

When Schaeffer managed to get his legs up around Swift's head, Swift picked Schaeffer up and dropped him back down on his head. Winner by Tap out-LaQuinn Swift.

  8. ISCF Amateur Light Heavyweight
Zack Leavitt, 0-2, Karate Academy, Morton Grove, IL, Vs Dan Bolden, 2-0, Bushido Karate, Chicago, IL, Winston Matthews.
Leavitt came forward throwing lefts and rights to Bolden's head and body. Bolden wrapped his arms around Leavitt's body and dumped him on the canvass, picked him up and dumped him a second time. Leavitt held onto the back of Bolden's head trying to neutralize any further offense. After a period of inactivity, Referee Mark Fennal stands the fighters up and re-starts them. Leavitt throws more punches, Bolden clinches and Leavitt throws knees to Bolden's body. Bolden throws Leavitt to the canvass but ends up on his back with Leavitt in a side mount. As it was earlier in the round, inactivity causes the referee to stand them and re-start them. Again Leavitt punches and kicks while Bolden attempts a takedown as the round ends.
Round 2 In the first round it appeared that Leavitt wanted to end the fight quickly with kicks and punches and Bolden was content to take the fight to the ground. At the opening bell of this round, Bolden came across the cage and hit Leavitt with a powerful right hook to the jaw that stunned Leavitt. Bolden then wrapped his arms around Leavitt and slammed Leavitt to the canvass. Leavitt didn't move after going down and Referee Mark Fennal stepped between the fighters and stopped the fight at :15 of Round 2.
    Winner by Knockout-Dan Bolden.

  9. ISCF Amateur Featherweight
Lloyd Carter, 3-0, Team Colon, Hammond, IN, Steve Colon, Vs Bryant Ousley, 0-1, Sacred Flow Temple, Chicago, Il, Earl Green

Carter got his legs wrapped around Ousley's head and upper body but was unable to do anything with it. Carter worked his way to a side mount and eventually swung his leg over to a top mount. Ousley tried to bridge and roll, rolling to his stomach and quickly realized his mistake and rolled back onto his back. Carter made several attempts to gain an advantage from the top but Ousley was successful in neutralizing the attacks. The round ended with Carter on top.
Round 2 The round starts with Ousley missing a kick to Carter's body. Carter counters with a series of punches to Ousley's head backing Ousley up to avoid the onslaught. Ousley manages a left front kick to Carter's body stalling the attack but only briefly. Ousley appeared stunned and worried about the attack as Carter quickly comes after him with another series of left/right combinations to Ousley's face causing Referee Mike Reid to step in and stop the fight when Ousley was unable to protect himself at :37 of Round 2.
    Winner by TKO-Lloyd Carter.

  10. ISCF Amateur Light Heavyweight
Kevin Wachhaus, 0-1, Spartan Athlima, York Haven, PA, Michael Wright, Vs Louis Taylor, 2-0, Combat Zone Lima BJJ, Chicago, IL, Unique Gathings
Taylor fakes a jab to the face of Wachhaus and shoots in to take Wachhaus down to the canvass. From the top position, Taylor begins the ground and pound. Wachhaus, now with a bloody nose, tries to get his arms around Taylor and pull him close to stop the punches but with limited success. Taylor moves around trying to position himself for the best attack. He swings his leg over Wachhaus's body from a half mount to a full mount and begins more ground and pound. Wachhaus turns to his stomach giving Taylor his back where Taylor is able to get his hooks in. The referee stops time to call the doctor in to look at the blood on Wachhaus's face. With nothing more than a bloody nose, the doctor allows the match to continue. Referee Mark Fennal re-positions the fighters on the canvas and re-starts the match. Taylor continues the ground and pound. Wachhaus, in an effort to avoid the punches turns himself into position to allow Taylor to get a rear naked choke.
At 2:05 of Round 1 Referee Mark Fennal stops the fight. Winner by Tap Out-Louis Taylor.

Williams rushes forward and pins Camacho up against the cage. Camacho tries to trip Williams but on the way down Williams twists and land on top of Camacho in a side mount. Camacho turns away from Williams giving Williams his back. Williams begins punching Camacho on the head while on Camacho's back. Camacho is able to reach behind his head and grab one of Williams' arms to pull it in and somewhat lessen the attack to his head. The round ends with Williams on top punching Camacho to the side and the back of the head.
Round 2 Both fighters wait to load up for the big punch. Williams throws several right/left combinations coming after Camacho. Camacho throws a few wild punches that don't land cleanly. Williams throws a "superman" punch that misses Camacho causing Williams to fall. A tired Camacho reaches down and grabs a leg of Williams, swings it aside and achieves a side mount with Williams up against the cage. Williams is able to slide around and stand up to throw more punching combinations to Camacho's face. Camacho, very tired, falls down and allows Williams to jump on him throwing more punches to Camacho's head as the round ends.
Round 3 Williams is the more aggressive throwing more punching combinations to Camacho's head causing Camacho to clinch Williams in an effort to stop the attack. Camacho uses a bear hug to throw Williams down and puts his body weight on Williams to slow him down. Inactivity forces Referee Mark Fennal to stand the fighters and re-start them. Once again, they wrestle around in the clinch until they slip to the canvass with neither fighter gaining an advantage. The ends with both fighters totally exhausted, Camacho in the top position.
All three judges scored the fight 28-29. Winner by Unanimous Decision-Paul Williams.

  12. ISCF Amateur Lightweight
Derrick Gildon, 1-1, Team SureShot, Romeoville, IL, Vs Brendon Stutzman, 4-0, Chicagoland MMA, Sugar Grove, IL, Kyle Solberg.

Gildon throws punches at Stutzman but with little effect as Stutzman is able to cover up fairly well. Stutzman, with a bridge and roll, manages to reverse positions. Stutzman stands up over Gildon so Gildon grabs Stutzman by the ankle trying to twist it around to bring Stutzman down. Stutzman punches Gildon's body and head forcing Gildon to release the ankle. Both fighters use the bridge and roll throughout the round to change positions on each other several times with neither able to gain a solid advantage. The round ends just as Gildon was attempting a straight arm bar on Stutzman.
Round 2 The second round starts much like the first round ended. Each fighter is able to continually switch positions on the other with neither able to gain an advantage. With Stutzman on top, he picks Gildon up and slams him to the canvass falling on top of Gildon. Their heads butted in the process. Gildon complained to Referee Mark Fennal about the head butt and about blurred vision. The referee stopped time and called the doctor into the ring. Due to his blurry vision, the doctor declared Gildon unable to continue due to an "accidental" head butt.

MORE ISCF RESULTS

RESULTS FROM
MMA EVOLUTION
APRIL 14th, 2007 - Peoria, Illinois, USA

By ISCF/IKF Representative Michael Storm Hats go off to the folks at The Hive, Inc. (T.J. Mohler, Branson Wood, Bill McDonald, William Sherrer, Tracey Hopson and Tanya Sherrer) for pulling out all of the stops on April 14th in Peoria, Illinois and sparing no expense to make their very first fight card a classy and professional event!

The Peoria Civic Center was spacious, the spectators were anxious and the fighters were tentative, at least until they stepped into that ominous "CAGE". Once the door to the octagon was closed behind the fighters, all inhibition was left on the outside and the fighters left no doubt that they were in there to win. It was an evening full of Mixed Martial Arts action from both amateur and professional fighters. A highly anticipated fight and certainly one that had spectators out of their seats was a Professional Bantamweight Women's match-up which put Lindsy Franks of Moline, Illinois in the cage against Paula Meyers of Burnsville, Minnesota. More on that later, now…the results of the night…

  1. Amateur Middleweight
Ryan Smith, 0-1, Canton, Illinois, Jeremy Pasley, Vs Nicholas Sandage, 1-0, Gibson City, Illinois.
Round 1 Sandage comes out and immediately throws a right round kick to Smith's body so Smith counters with a right punch to Sandage's head that may have surprised Sandage early on. Sandage comes in and wraps his arms around Smith and takes Smith down to the canvass. Sandage, from a side mount, manages to work Smith around the canvass until he is able to get Smith pushed up against the cage. Smith is able to slide his hips around and get his legs around Sandage. Sandage gets too high on top giving Smith an arm. Smith nearly locks an arm bar but Sandage frees his arm then swings his leg around and achieves a full mount on Smith. Smith puts his arms around Sandage's head, pulling Sandage down and neutralizing the head punches Sandage attempts to hit him with. With a strong bridge and roll, Smith is able to reverse positions on Sandage and throws punches of his on but Sandage is able to neutralize the ground and pound as the round ends with Smith on top. Two of the three judges had Smith with the edge in the first round.
Round 2 The round begins much like the first, an exchange of kicks and punches, Sandage shoots in and takes Smith down with his arms around Smith's waist. Smith catches Sandage's head as he shoots in and catches Sandage in a guillotine choke which Sandage blocks and frees his head managing to stand and allowing Smith to stand with him. Sandage throws a powerful left hook to Smith's body causing Smith to clinch. While in the clinch, they exchange a couple of knees until Sandage takes Smith down with a hip throw. With Sandage in a full mount, Smith successfully bridge and rolls as in the first round but this time Sandage holds firmly onto Smith's arm as Smith tries to stand. At 1:50 of the round, Referee Bob Long stopped the fight when Ryan Smith tapped out from an arm bar.
    Winner by Tap Out-Nick Sandage.

  2. Amateur Welterweight
Tom Marr, 0-1, Smithfield, Illinois, Jeremy Pasley, Vs Nam Do, 2-2, Peoria, Illinois, Ryan Blackerby.
Round 1 Do begins by throwing a jab which Marr ducks under and shoots for a double leg takedown. Do catches Marr in a guillotine choke as Marr pushes Do up against the cage. Marr manages to get his head free as Do works his way up to his feet although still pushed up against the cage by Marr. They wrestle around against the cage until Marr is able to take Do down again. After being unable to gain further advantage, Marr stands and allows Do to get up. This time Do gets a double leg takedown on Marr. He controls Marr from the top position and then stands up, grabs Marr's legs and swings them to the side catching Marr up against the cage. The round ends with Do on top of Marr throwing punches at Marr's head. All judges gave the edge to Do in the round.
Round 2 As the round begins, Do flies across the cage in a failed attempt at a "superman" punch to Marr's head. Marr ducks the punch and tries a single leg takedown which Do avoids. With both fighters in a clinch up against the cage, Do pushes Marr's back to the cage and them swings Marr around to the canvass with Do on top. After a period of inactivity, Referee Bob Long stands the fighters and re-starts them. After another attempt by Marr with a single leg takedown, Do manages to twist around to the back of Marr and apply a rear naked choke on Marr. At 2:39 of the round, Referee Bob Long stops the fight when Marr tapped out from the rear naked choke.
    Winner by Tap Out-Nam Do.

  3. Amateur Featherweight
Kyle Dietrich, 1-1, Pekin, Illinois, Justin Abatie, Vs Derek Brown, 1-1, East Peoria, Illinois, Shawn Harper.
Both fighters start cautious until Dietrich throws some kicks followed up by a single leg takedown. Brown is able to reverse position and gains a full mount on top of Dietrich but gives Dietrich his head in the process. Dietrich tries to cinch down on Brown's head while Brown pounds Dietrich's body. As a result, Dietrich is unable to maintain the front choke and allows Brown to get his head out. Brown swings his leg over to a full mount and begins to ground and pound on Dietrich's head and body. Dietrich manages to block and/or tie up some of Brown's blows but is unable to mount any offense of his own or completely stop Brown's onslaught. After warnings to Dietrich from Referee Bob Long to fight back or risk having the fight stopped, at 1:51 of the first round the fight was stopped.
    Winner by TKO-Derek Brown.

  4. Professional Welterweight
Rod Ferris, 0-2, Canton, Illinois, Vs Anthony White, 1-0, Maquoketa, Iowa, Midwest Mixed Martial Arts
White stalks Farris as the round starts. Farris throws a round kick followed up by a side kick to White's body. White seemed unbothered. Farris throws a left outer crescent kick to White's head but White rushes in, grabs Farris around the waist and slams Farris to the canvass attaining a full mount. Farris holds White's arms while bridging and rolling to switch positions with White. Now, with Farris on top, White holds Farris down preventing Farris from mounting an effective offense. Farris gets too high and allows White to switch back to the top in a half mount. After a period of inactivity, Referee Bob Long stands the fighters and re-starts them. White ducks a left punch from Farris grabs Farris and throws him to the canvas with White in a half mount soon swinging his leg over into a full mount and throwing a series of punches to Farris' face. At 2:28 of Round 1 Referee Bob Long stopped the fight when Farris told him he had had enough.
    Winner by Submission-Anthony White.

  5. Professional Middleweight
Mark Long, 26-27, Rock Island, Illinois, Alley Cat Boxing, Vs Manuel Quiroz, 8-23, Mason City, Iowa
Long appeared content to stand and trade blows as the fight started. Quiroz appeared to want to take the fight to the canvass. Quiroz takes several shots in an effort to clinch with Long and proceeded to pull Long down to the ground. With Long on top throwing punches, Quiroz patiently worked from the bottom bringing his legs up around the neck and shoulders of Long attempting a triangle choke. Long quickly stopped his attack and stood to avoid the choke, waiting for Quiroz to stand with him. After another attempt by Quiroz at a takedown, Long side-stepped the attempt and threw a kick to Quiroz' body. Back and forth, Quiroz tries a takedown and submission, Long stands out of it and invites Quiroz to stand with him. Finally, Quiroz gets Long down and attempts an ankle lock on Long. Long twists out and gets the top position on Quiroz with an attempt at a kamura on Quiroz. Quiroz gets his arm free and turns to get a leg lock on Long. Again Long pulls out and stands again. Quiroz, from a clinch, tries a takedown which Long backs out of, grabs Quiroz' leg, swings it around and throws a leg lock of his own onto Quiroz. At 3:37 of Round 1, Referee Bob Long stopped the fight.
    Winner by Tap Out-Mark Long.

With his back against the cage, Hereford wraps his legs up around Lockhart's waist so Lockhart turns and dumps Hereford onto the canvass. After a period of wrestling around with Lockhart on top, Hereford gets his legs too high allowing Lockhart to back out, swing Hereford legs to the side and take Hereford's back. While on Hereford's back, Lockhart tries to apply a choke which Hereford is able to avoid by turning toward Lockhart and eventually switch positions with Lockhart. Shortly after that, Lockhart manages to switch positions again and the round ends with Lockhart on top. All judges gave the round to Lockhart.
Round 2 Hereford comes across the cage with a front kick to Lockhart. Lockhart reaches down and grabs one of Hereford's legs, swings him around to the canvass and up against the cage. 7. Professional Bantamweight Women
Lindsay Franks 0-1, Moline, Illinois, Vs Paula Myers 1-0, Burnsville, Minnesota, Warrior's Cave
Round 1 Both women exchange a series of kicks and punches to start the round. Meyers comes in with her head down and Franks catches her in a standing guillotine choke. Franks moves Meyers around with the choke for a short while until Meyers is able to trip Franks backward onto her back but Franks maintains the choke while Meyers has the top mount. Franks rolls Meyers onto her back while still holding the choke which doesn't appear to be bothering Meyers. Meyers throws several punches to Franks' body in retaliation and manages to free her head in the process and then reaches up to tie Franks up. Meyers slides to her side and manages to stand, the round ends with both women up throwing punches. Doctor Hoffman goes into the cage to look at a cut under the eye of Meyers and determines it to be nothing more than a scratch and allows the fight to continue. All judges giving the round to Franks.
Round 2 This round consisted of kicks and punches in a series of vicious exchanges. Franks would hit Meyers and then Meyers would hit Franks. The two women went back and forth until Meyers landed a series of successful left/right combinations to the face of Franks forcing her backwards and causing her to turn away. More powerful punching combinations to Franks head forced her to grab Meyers in a clinch to stop the devastating onslaught. Franks takes Meyers down near the end of the round and gets onto Meyers back attempting a rear naked choke that Meyers is able to block making it ineffective. All judges gave the round to Meyers. Franks was having difficulty breathing at the end of the second round and was unable to answer the bell to start the third round forcing Referee Bob Long to stop the fight.
    Winner by TKO-Paula Meyers.

  8. Amateur Heavyweight

They wrestle around the ring and end up against the cage. Stumpf throws more knees and upper cuts. Honegger eventually drops to a knee and tries a takedown but only manages to drive Stumpf back against the cage. Honegger gives up the leg, backs away and eats a pair of upper cuts from Stumpf. Honnegger tries another takedown pushing Stumpf to the cage. Honegger reaches down and pulls both of Stumpf's legs out from under him putting Stumpf on his back Honegger on top punching Stumpf in the head. Stumpf turns over, giving Honegger his back but Stumpf is able to stand as the round comes to an end. All judges gave the round to Stumpf for the more effective striking.

The Tiger Sharks, based in Seattle and coached by Maurice Smith, dispatched the Red Bears, based in Chicago and coached by Igor Zinoviev, 4-1, while the hometown Quad-Cities-based Silverbacks, mentored by Pat Miletich, took care of the Nevada-based Lions, led by Ken Shamrock by the same 4-1 count.

The results leave the Tiger Sharks, Pitbulls and Lions with 1-1 team records, while the Red Bears fell to 0-2. With identical 6-4 individual marks, the Tiger Sharks and Silverbacks are tied for fifth place in the overall standings, ahead of the Condors (5-5) and Lions (4-6). The top four teams at the end of the regular season advance to the playoffs.

  • Tiger Sharks Vs Red Bears
    1. *Shad Lierley (Seattle) got the Tiger Sharks off to a quick start with a split decision over Mike Corey (St. Louis, MO) in the lightweight bout.
    2. Mark Miller (Chicago, IL) moved the Red Bears even with a unanimous decision over Brad Blackburn (Olympia, WA.) in the welterweight division.
    3. In the pivotal middleweight matchup, Bristol Marunde (Sequim, WA.) turned aside an early set of punches from John Kading, then unleashed a barrage of strikes of his own for the first-round TKO and 2-1 Tiger Sharks edge.
    4. With the match on the line, Allan Goes (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) finished the job by knocking out Homer Moore (Phoenix, AZ) in the second round, turning around a match that Moore had dominated over the first five minutes.
    5. Reese Andy (Billings, MT) completed the victory with a workmanlike second-round submission triumph over Adam Maciejewski (Krasnik, Poland).
  • Silverbacks Vs Lions
    1. The Silverbacks' Rory Markham (Chicago) put the crowd in a frenzy with an exciting third-round knockout of Pat Healy (St. Louis, MO) in a welterweight slugfest which saw both fighters score with big shots.
    2. Ryan McGivern (Bettendorf, Iowa) then ground out a unanimous verdict over Daniel Molina (Carson City, NV) for a 2-0 advantage for the hosts.
    3. Vernon White (East Palo Alto, CA) secured a second-round submission from Sam Hoger (Eagle River, Alaska) in another bout that seemed to be going the other way when Hoger applied a choke of his own earlier in the round before White escaped and turned the tables.
    4. *Lions heavyweight Roy Nelson (Las Vegas, NV) gave Ben Rothwell (Milwaukee, WI) his toughest IFL contest, with Rothwell grinding out a split decision, earning the Silverbacks the team victory.
    5. *Bart Palaszewski (Wonder Lake, IL.) completed the 4-1 score with a split decision over John Gunderson (Medford, OR).

      • (*) The ISCF has requested a Judges Review of these bout decisions.

In the Superfight that followed, lightweight Jeff Curran (Crystal Lakes, IL.) topped Kevin English (Lake Station, IN) by submission in the second round.

In the preliminary matchups which featured the alternate fighters, Tristan Wit of the Tiger Sharks won via TKO over Pavel Zurochka of the Red Bears when Zurochka failed to answer the bell for the third round, and Rick Reeves of the Lions won via first-round submission over Luke Johnson of the Silverbacks, securing a rear naked choke.

The IFL next visits Uncasville, Conn., on April 13, with the Dragons vs. Scorpions and Pitbulls vs. Wolfpack, at Mohegan Sun Arena. Each of the 12 IFL teams for 2007 will compete in three regular season events; the teams with the top four overall win-loss team records will advance to the semi-finals, which will be held on Thursday, August 2, at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ. The 2007 IFL Finals will then be held at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, September 15.

The 10 venues for the 2007 season (The Forum will host two events) will scale to between 7,000 and 13,000 seats, which has been consistent with the IFL's plan of managed growth.

RESULTS FROM
PURE FORCE V - VENDETTA!
March 31st, 2007 - Tinley Park, Illinois, USA

IKF & ISCF Representatives Mike & Terri Storm: The crowd was ready, the fighters were pumped and the card was volatile at the Tinley Park Convention Center in Tinley Park, Illinois on Saturday, March 31, 2007 for the REVOLUTION FIGHT NIGHT I "ANARCHY IN THE RING". The guys at HCX International, Brian Thompson, James and Ron Hill, know how to put together an event in the face of adversity. The State of Illinois is attempting to take control of all styles of fighting, amateur and professional, and modifying the rules of such events to satisfy their own wishes and make it difficult to have an exciting program.

In fact, the state successfully managed to shut down an event elsewhere in the state on this very night. In spite of this, the guys at HCX crossed all of the t's, dotted all of the i's and put together a card involving Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing featuring both Professional and Amateur fighters.

Special congratulations must go to all of the fighters and trainers for being ready to fight. The pre-fight weigh-ins, paperwork, rules meeting and physicals went off without a hitch which allowed the event to start "on time"…how often does that happen??!!! Before the results of the night, I want to recognize Lisa Dzik and Maggie Mangaliag for putting on a Muay Thai Rules exhibition.
Here are the Results of the night…

  • AMATEUR BOUTS
    1. AMATEUR MMA - Lightweight
Ron Gilb (0-1, Cicero, Illinois, Bob Schmer) Vs Rick "Ricardo" Lamas (1-0, Top Notch, Elmhurst, Illinois, Macario Ramos)
A cautious and slow start as each fighter appeared reluctant to take a risk. They wound up in a clinch where each began throwing knees to the others body. Eventually, Lamas got his arms around Gilb's body and threw Gilb onto his back. Lamas, from a top mount, threw several punches to Gilb's head causing Gilb to concentrate on covering up. Lamas was able to stand and grab Gilb's legs. He threw them aside and gained a full mount on Gilb while continuing the punching assault to Gilb's head. Gilb turned to his stomach, exposing his back to Lamas and allowing Lamas to put a rear naked choke on him.
At 2:15 of Round 1, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Tap Out-Ricardo Lamas.

    2. AMATEUR MMA Welterweight
Luke Niles (1-3, Sandwich, Illinois, Mike Clemens) Vs Daren Smith (1-0, Peoria, Illinois, Ryan Blackorby)
Both fighters started the round punching at each other until Niels shot for a takedown. He came up short and as he stood up, Smith shot and took Niels down to the canvass. They wrestled around but neither was able to get the upper-hand. Referee Al Wichgers had to stop them, stand them and re-start them. The round ended with a slight edge going to Niels on 2 of the 3 judges cards.
Round 2: Smith was able to take Niels down fairly easy this round several times but was unable to get an advantage. When the referee stood the fighters up a third time, Smith was able to take Niels down again and gain side control. Smith got Niels bent arm and placed him in an arm-bar (Kamura).
At 2:56 of Round 2, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Tap Out-Daren Smith.

    3. AMATEUR MMA Welterweight
Luke Bilski (1-0, Force Toro, Bull Ridge, Illinois, Sean Burke) Vs Casey Wiley (0-1, Team DeVore, Mt. Zion, Illinois, Jeff DeVore.)
To start the fight, Wiley threw a round kick to Bilski's head and followed it up with a takedown. Wiley got the top mount but was unable to do anything from there. They rolled around for a while until the referee stood them up. Again, Wiley took Bilski down. While in the top mount, Wiley got too high and gave Bilski a straight arm allowing Bilski to put him in a straight armbar.
At 2:00 of Round 1, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Tap Out-Luke Bilski.

    4. AMATEUR MMA Welterweight
Rich Graveline (1-2, Olympic Arena, Manteno, Illinois, Peter Farais) Vs Mike Perry (2-0, Team DeVore, Mt. Zion, Illinois, Jeff DeVore)
Perry threw a kick to Graveline's body to start the fight. Graveline caught the leg and threw Perry around onto the canvass allowing him to jump onto Perry's back. Graveline put Perry in a rear naked choke but was unable to cinch it in for the submission. Perry got out of the choke, twisted around and was able to stand. Again, Graveline was able to get onto Perry's back after another successful takedown. This time Graveline threw a number of punches to Perry's head. Perry again twisted around, got out of danger and stood up. While in the standing position, Perry threw a hard right hook that hit Graveline on the left cheek and sent Graveline down to one knee. Perry failed to follow up and allowed Graveline to stand. Graveline took Perry down once again and finished the round by pounding Perry until the bell rang. The right hook by Perry to Graveline's face opened a cut under Graveline's eye. Between rounds, Doctor Bruce Hertz came in to look at the cut and determined it was too severe for Graveline to continue.
At the end of Round 1, the fight was stopped by the doctor. Winner by TKO-Mike Perry.

    5. AMATEUR Muay Thai Rules Middleweight
Tim Martin, (1-0, Force Toro, Bull Ridge, Illinois, Ricardo Perez) Vs Ivan Wolshlager, (0-1, Team Lightning Kicks, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Amir Killah.)
The round started with Martin coming across the ring throwing a right kick to Wolshlager's body followed up by a right punch to his head. Wolshlager clinched and Martin proceeded to knee him in the body. Martin controlled the round in the clinches as Wolshlager appeared to be bothered by Martin's knees to his body.
Round 2: Martin started the round attacking. His main weapon this round appeared to be his leg kicks. He threw one kick to Wolshlager's legs earning a flash knockdown. When Wolshlager got up, Martin kicked his leg again and again put Wolshlager down. Referee Al Wichgers gave Wolshlager an 8-count when he was slow getting up. The round finished with Martin's vicious leg kicks.
Round 3: This round was much like the previous round. More Martin leg kicks delivered to Wolshlager earned him several more flash knockdowns. In an effort to gain some relief from the leg kicks, Wolshlager tried to clinch with Martin. It only gave Martin the chance to work the knees to the body again. A hard well placed knee by Martin put Wolshlager down for the last time.
At 1:08 of Round 3, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by TKO-Tim Martin.

    6. AMATEUR MMA Lightweight
Tim Potter (0-1, Double Tap Fight Crew, Plainfield, Illinois, Charles Wilson) Vs Brendon Stutzman, (3-0, Chicagoland MMA, Sugar Grove, Illinois, Kyle Solberg.)
Lots of flailing of arms and legs to start the fight but nothing effective was thrown. In a clinch, Potter was able to throw Stutzman and land on top but was unable to do anything. The referee stood the fighters up where Stutzman began to connect with punches to Potter's head. Potter took Stutzman down again but as before the referee had to stand them after a period of inactivity before the round ended.
Round 2: This round was much like the first round where they were up and down twice. The third time down, Stutzman was able to get to Potter's back and was able to put Potter in a rear naked choke.
At 1:57 of Round 2, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Tap Out-Brendon Stutzman.

    7. AMATEUR Kickboxing - International Rules Middleweight
Eric Newingham, (3-2, Team DeVore, Mt. Zion, Illinois, Jeff DeVore) Vs Daniel Park, (0-1, Top Notch, Elmhurst, Illinois, Macario Ramos.)
Park came to the event expecting to fight Muay Thai but his opponent (Nick Mart ) became ill and was unable to compete. Newingham came to the event expecting to fight International Rules and his opponent (Clinton Brown) was a "No Show". The fighters were only 6 pounds different in weight and both came to fight so they paired up together to fight.
Round 1: Both fighters came forward swinging to end it early with little effect until they settled down and started picking their shots. After several leg kick exchanges, Newingham moved in with a series of left and right punches to Park's head. He knocked Park down earning him an 8 count. The round ended with both fighters exchanging blows.
Round 2: The round began with heavy exchanges. Park, the Muay Thai fighter, let his instincts kick in and clinched Newingham to throw knees which are illegal in an International Rules match. Referee Al Wichgers warned Park not to use knees. As the round progressed, Park was caught using his knees again and received 1 point deduction. Again, later in the round, Park received a warning for a low blow and a second point deduction for using his knees. The round ended with hard exchanges from both fighters.
Round 3: Early in the round, Park was caught using his knees again.
At :23 of Round 3, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Disqualification, Eric Newingham.

    8. AMATEUR MMA Super Heavyweight
Joe O'Brien (1-0, Force Toro, Bull Ridge, Illinois, Sean Burke/Ricardo Perez) Vs Jon Jordan (0-1, Team DeVore, Mt. Zion, Illinois, Jeff DeVore.)
The fighters wrestled around in the standing position for a period of time trying to prevent the other from getting the upper hand. Eventually, O'Brien was able to get Jordan down and get Jordan's back but was unable to do anything with it causing the referee to stand them and re-start them. O'Brien threw a kick to Jordan's body but slipped and fell to the canvass. Jordan dropped on O'Brien but O'Brien was able to slide sideways and escape to the top position. O'Brien had a chance to put 2 arm bars on Jordan but Jordan was able to twist out of them. As Jordan was twisting his body around, O'Brien took the opportunity to grab Jordan's leg and apply an ankle lock that Jordan couldn't escape from.
At 2:09 of Round 1, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Tap Out-Joe O'Brien.

    9. AMATEUR MMA Bantamweights
Kyle Dietrich (1-0, Pekin Martial Arts Academy, Pekin, Illinois, Justin Abaite) Vs Jacob Ritchie (5-3, Springfield Fight Club, Springfield, Missouri).
Both fighters exchange punches early. Ritchie staggers Dietrich with a right hook to the jaw and takes Dietrich down to continue punching Dietrich from the top mount. Dietrich successfully tied Ritchie up long enough to recover and force the referee to stand them up. Ritchie was aggressive and went to finish Dietrich early. Dietrich was patient and remained calm while waiting for Ritchie to make a mistake. Dietrich's patience paid off as Ritchie got too high and gave Dietrich a straight arm which Dietrich locked into an arm bar.
At 2:28 of Round 1, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Tap Out-Kyle Dietrich.

  • PRO BOUTS
    1. Pro Muay Thai Super Middleweight
Cyrus Washington, (2-2, Double Tap Fight Crew/Team HCX, Int'l, Marshall, Michigan) Vs Brandon Mahoney, (0-2, Springfield Fight Club, Springfield, Missouri, Clyde Hicks).
13 kicks landed before the first punch landed in this scheduled 5 round fight. Both fighters threw vicious leg and body kicks to the other. Neither fighter had shown any advantage until Washington threw a round kick to Mahoney's head that missed but set up a reverse side kick that caught Mahoney in the ribs and ended the fight.
At 1:51 of Round 1, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by TKO-Cyrus Washington.

    2. Pro MMA Welterweight
Charles Wilson, (4-4, Double Tap Fight Crew/Team HCX, Int'l, Plainfield, Illinois) Vs Amir Khillah, (0-2, Team Lightning Kicks, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Brian Skjold).
Round 1: Wilson took Khillah down and worked from the side mount with little effect causing the referee to stand them up. They kicked and kneed each other for a while until Wilson took Khillah down again with a full mount while throwing several punches to Khillah face giving Khillah a bloody nose. The attack stalled so the referee stood them up again. Each fighter threw more kicks and knees, Wilson took Khillah down again and the round ended with Wilson on top.
Round 2: Several kicks and knees by both fighters to start the round until Wilson took Khillah down with a top mount. Wilson attempted a quick arm bar but missed it and opened him self up for Khillah to switch positions and get on top. Nothing happened so the referee stood them up. More kicks and knees with Khillah possibly having the edge from the standing position as the round ended.
Round 3: Wrestling around was ineffective until Wilson took Khillah down. Again the referee stood them up. After more clinching and wrestling, Khillah failed at an attempt to sweep Wilson. Khillah ended up pulling Wilson down on top of him. With Wilson now in a full mount, he pounded Khillah with a flurry of lefts and rights to the head. Khillah was unable to defend himself and told Referee Al Wichgers he was finished.
At 4:23 of Round 3, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Submission-Charles Wilson.

    3. Pro MMA Lightweight
John Paun, (4-6-2, South Holland, Illinois) Vs Dustin Neace, (14-8-1, Damage Incorporated, Greenwood, Indiana.)
Neace took Paun down quickly gaining a side mount and throwing knees to Paun's body. Paun attempted to twist around and reverse positions but got his body too high allowing Neace to get his legs up around Paun's head and catching Paun in a triangle choke.
At 1:53 of Round 1, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Tap Out-Dustin Neace.

    4. Pro MMA Light Heavyweight
Bobby Martinez, (11-4-0, Team Truth, Huntington, Indiana, Guy Hinton) Vs Davion Peterson, (13-4, Damage Incorporated, Indianapolis, Indiana, Scott McCorkle.)
Peterson shot quick, took Martinez down and gained a top mount while throwing punches to Martinez' head. Peterson passed to a half mount but in doing so he gave Martinez a chance to escape. Martinez stood up only to be taken down by Peterson again. This time Peterson gains a full mount punching Martinez in the head. In an effort to cover up, Martinez rolled over to his stomach giving Peterson his back. Peterson quickly threw a rear naked choke on Martinez.
At 3:10 of Round 1, the fight was stopped by Referee Al Wichgers. Winner by Tap Out-Davion Peterson.
