Results From Fight Lab Promotions'
"MMA CAGE FIGHTS"
February 19th, 2010 - Goldsburo, North Carolina, USA

Results By ISCF Representative Ron Thomas.
In honor of the men and women serving this great nation … this weekend on the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina, USA, Promoter Kenny Letts (Fight Lab Promotions) and Matchmaker Michael Allen (Bread and Butter Management) hosted the first ever MMA event upon the North Carolina Military installation in the form of MMA promotion "MMA Cage Fights". I myself, being very involved in the Mixed Martial Arts scene was very impressed as to the overall flow and execution of their event/show. Everything was perfect, the lights, the music, the DJ, AND the over 1,200 United States Airmen that provided these fighters more support than I have ever seen in any event of any size … everything worked like clockwork. The show was scheduled to start at 7:30 PM and so it did!!! Ring announcers Bruce Foster and Ron Biscotti started the show promptly at 7:30 and didn't stop until the final bell. I was especially impressed with the "behind the scenes" crew that Kenny and Michael had in place and to how well they kept the fighters ready and the flow of the event constant.

Michael Allen kept the fighters informed, prepared, in line, and on the go. There wasn't a single time where the fighters were not ready and the Airmen had to wait on the action.

As for action, there was plenty! From the first of ten fights to the last the audience was treated to some TOP NOTCH amateurs to include two ISCF title bouts! This was the first amateur event that I have experience where the promoter unified their local promotions titled with the ISCF State Title. There were standup striking, wrestling, takedowns, knock downs, and submissions galore. To the credit of the referee, Bill Clancy and the ring physician, Joe Crill (R Joseph Crill Wellness) there was only one suspension issued. As boring as this may sound there were NO BORING FIGHTS at this event. There was one solid Knockout and some REAL CLOSE calls though… There were eight submissions, but no one had to suffer being put to sleep (3 Arm Bars, 2 Guillotines, 2 Rear Naked Chokes, and one tapout due to strikes.) There were plenty of cuts, scrapes, bruises, black eyes and bloody noses but nothing serious.
NOW THAT'S A GREAT SHOW!!!!!

Special props need to go out to matchmaker Michael Allen on a job WELL done. He put together some great fights. EVERY fight was evenly matched and the lack of injuries was a testament to that. I want to say a very sincere thanks to our fellow ISCF Officials, they dedicated and volunteered their time, skills, and knowledge to this special event. Steve Fossum, the ISCF President, helped out with some discounts in event sanctioning fees due to the fact it was an event for the Troops! The event staff, the promoter, and especially the Airmen at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base truly appreciated it!

Now to give recognition to the Officials that performed their duties as volunteers for this event: The Chief Event Referee, Bill Clancy, has quickly become a legend in the Boxing community, performed professionally and flawlessly! I would like to say, "Thanks" to Daryl Bennett and Dr. Joe Cooper who assisted Bill by performing referee duties for the non title bouts. The Judges at the event, Gregory Samples, Kelly Locklear, Maxine Thomas, and Dr. Joe Cooper (also referee) came from miles away including several neighboring states; Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Washington D.C. respectfully; Alex Thomas was the Official Timekeeper, Mr. Kenneth Letts Sr. performed the duties of scorekeeper and Kara Mclaughlin and Molli Fitzwater were the Gate Controllers. I feel that I can speak for everyone when I say, your selfless dedication and volunteering of your precious time is greatly appreciated, as you yourselves can testify from being at the event … these Airmen that serve our Country so proudly, had one fantastic night!!

Fight Lab Pros provided some special recognition to a few folks … They had three U.S. Flags flown over the United States Capitol Building on this past Veteran's Day in honor of this event, specifically for three individuals: Mr. Kenny Letts for his devotion to our troops and promoting such a special event, to Capt. Brandon Wengert for allowing this event to take place within the boundaries of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, and to the Main Event winner of the Night, the New International Sports Combat Federations - ISCF North Carolina State Middleweight Champion and the Fight Lab Promotions Middleweight Champion - Bradley DeSir.

One last thanks to promoter Kenny Letts and Fight Lab Promotions; you guys provide opportunities for these young, hard working and exciting fighters that hope to become stars someday, and by the appearance of this event, it's only a matter of time. Keep up the GREAT work and we look forward to your next show in March.
