CONTINUING AFTER A LOSS
Although a division may show full on the web page, this does
not mean the division will be full after registrations and weigh-ins on Friday.
Many things can happen that can create an OPPORTUNITY for an "ALTERNATE"
fighter. Here is some information for the ALTERNATE FIGHTERS and a few examples
on how they could still compete and win a Tournament Title, with explanations.
- ALL Alternates (Whether they fight or not) who show up and make
weight at the Tournament will receive at the minimum, a medal and certificate
from the event.
- If any of the 16 seeded fighters no show, don't make weight or drop out
prior to their first bout, the alternate fighters will be added to the bracket
in the order they registered. If one "Seeded" fighter in the bracket "No
Shows", the FIRST Alternate will be added to the 16 Fghter bracket
Championship Tournament. If two "Seeded" fighters no show, don't make
weight, whatever, than TWO alternates will be added and so on.
- ALL 16 Registered Fighters Show Up & Make Weight: If this
happens, no Alternates will be automatically added to the Bracket as explained
in #1 above.
- REMAINING ALTERNATES IF NUMBER 3 IS TRUE: As long as there are at
least TWO Alternate fighters, EACH WILL HAVE
A FIGHT!
- ALL Alternates will fight first on Saturday morning to determine the "Top
Seeded Alternate" in each division. This winner will have first
opportunity to be placed into the actual Tournament Bracket if called upon.
- 1 ALTERNATE: If there is only 1 Alternate, he will wait to see if
any of the fighters cannot continue to the second round of competition.
- If after the first round of competition no Alternate is needed in their
division, the *fighter who is in the best
condition after their first round loss of Tournament Competition will be offered
an additional fight with the Division Alternate, just so the Alternate can have
a bout.
- 2 ALTERNATES: If there are TWO Alternate fighters, they will fight
for the position of FIRST ALTERNATE for the Tournament.
- 3 ALTERNATES: If there are THREE Alternate Fighters, a "Hat
Draw" will determine who will be selected as the first 2 of them to
fight for the FIRST ALTERNATE Position.
- If after the first round of competition no Alternate is needed in their
division, the fighter who won the first match-up will fight the fighter who did
not fight, just so all can have a bout.
- 4 ALTERNATES: These fighters will be matched up by a "Hat
Draw" into two bouts. The most decisive winner as determined by the
bouts in the following order: Quickest win by a KO or TKO followed by Quickest
Tap Out followed by the overall fighting ability in a decision win as judged by
the bout referee & judges of these three bouts will be appointed as the FIRST
ALTERNATE of the division.
- 5 ALTERNATES: If there are FIVE Alternate Fighters, a "Hat
Draw" will determine who will be selected as the first 2 of them to
fight followed by another "Hat Draw" for the remaining three.
The loser of the "Hat Draw" will be out of the Alternate
opportunity but will be offered a bout later in the day. Of the other 4, the
most decisive winner as determined in the following order: Quickest win by a KO
or TKO followed by Quickest Tap Out followed by the overall fighting ability in
a decision win as judged by the bout referee & judges of these three bouts
will be appointed as the FIRST ALTERNATE of the division.
- 6 ALTERNATES: These fighters will be matched up by a "Hat
Draw" into three bouts. The most decisive winner of the three bouts as
determined in the following order: Quickest win by a KO or TKO followed by
Quickest Tap Out followed by the overall fighting ability in a decision win as
judged by the bout referee & judges of these three bouts will be appointed
as the FIRST ALTERNATE of the division.
- A Seeded Fighter who is Defeated in either Round 1 or Round 2 of
the Tournament Bracket (Not rounds of the fight, but rounds of the Brackets.)
could be given the Opportunity to fight again if the fighter who defeated him
cannot continue to the next round of action.
- *A Losing Seeded Fighter has the
opportunity to come back into the Tournament in either Round 2 or even to the
Final Round of competition if the fighter that defeated him cannot continue to
the next round.
- If a Winning Seeded Fighter is injured in the First Round of competition,
and the losing fighter cannot continue, the FIRST ALTERNATE will be
given the Opportunity to step in and fight in the second round.
- If a Winning Seeded Fighter is injured in the Second Round of
Competition, ONLY the *fighter he
defeated may step in to compete in the Final on Sunday. This is to avoid the
other FINAL Fighter from being matched up against a FRESH Alternate.
(*)
This is, as long as the losing fighter has not lost by TKO, KO or a possible
injury due to a joint lock or something else. The ISCF
Event Representative, ISCF Ringside Doctor
and the ISCF Bout Referee of each bout
will make this determination directly after each bout whether a fighter is able
to continue if need be, despite their loss.
